Experienced, (26 years), high energy teacher, constantly incorporating new teaching tools to include the latest songs, games, and technology.
Member of the Music Teacher's National Association, the International Horn Society, and several online education communities, staying abreast of emerging practices and activities.
Students play Rhythm Cups games, jazz and contemporary music along with classical, and enjoy composing their own pieces.
As I'm constantly creating individualized lessons, students are not required to buy music or books, but rather utilize my extensive Lending Library, which is included in tuition. No two students will have exactly the same curriculum, as no two people have exactly the same needs!
I specialize in creating unique music instruction, and have additional training working with students needing a little something extra: adults who wished they'd had lessons or hadn't quit, and those with disabilities who need accessible music education.
History: After a degree in Music, I continued to study in Music Education at San Diego State University, and Horn under John Lorge. I founded San Diego Music for Life in California in 1992, teaching, performing, and recording on piano, horn, clarinet, and percussion. Moving to beautiful North Dakota in 2010, I'm growing a music school, teaching both out of my home studio in Mandan, and traveling to student's homes to provide scheduling convenience. I currently am a member of the Bismarck-Mandan Symphony Orchestra, and enjoy playing with the West River Winds and the Missouri River Community Band.
I can also be seen around town driving busses for Mandan Public Schools and Harlow's Trailways Coaches!
